It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Rafi Lehmann -- a senior at JTS Rabbinical School and a beloved member of the community.   Rafi's brother Elie graduated this past May and was an active member here and his cousin Jeremy is currently a dear member of our community.  Rafi was a close colleague of our rabbinic intern, Dina Rosenberg. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all -- Rafi's parents Rabbi Allan and Joanne Lehmann, Rafi's fiance Sara Beth Berman, Elie (JTS/GS '09) and his fiancé, Anya Manning (JTS/BC'07) and his entire family and many friends.

In honor of Rafi's memory, we will be collecting tzedakah (charity) for Ramah Darom.   There will be tzedekah boxes placed throughout the Hillel building where you can donate. 

The JTS Rabbinical School is also arranging a study session in Rafi's memory at the conclusion of shloshim, after Shmini Atzeret.  We will provide more details about that closer to the time.

May Rafi's life be remembered as a blessing in all of our lives, and may his family and friends be comforted among all the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
