From Avanim:
The Fall '09 issue of Avanim (which is really from last spring) has arrived and it is fabulous! If you're interested in getting a copy, stop by the third floor of the Hillel and you'll find them in Chanel's office or scattered around the building.
Our first meeting is this Monday at 8 in Bishop Library in the Hillel. Old members and new, come to find out what positions are available (including co-editor-in-chief!), what Avanim is all about and our wild plans for this year.
The application deadline is extended to Thursday, September 24th at midnight. Email avanim.magazine@gmail.com for an application.
Avanim, a project of the Columbia/Barnard Hillel, is a literary magazine committed to the expression of Jewish experience through the publication of creative writing and art.
From Shalhevet:
Make the start of your year extra sweet with the Shalhevet Bake Sale!
On Tuesday, September 22, stop by Shalhevet's table on the walkway right outside the Barnard library to have a tasty, home-baked treat and support the wonderful Israeli dance troupe of Barnard, Columbia, and JTS.
