3) Reconstructionist services start this Friday, March 28th!
We are seeking to create services that are rooted in tradition yet recognize that we live in an ever-changing world. This allows for a movement both progressive and welcoming. Reconstructionist Judaism is completely egalitarian and our prayer books have translations and transliterations. Whether you're looking for a new approach to Judaism, a service more traditional than Reform but not as formal as Conservative, or simply a group of people to sing and connect with, we hope to see you at services!

Bishop library, 2nd floor Kraft Center
4) Dinner for Do-ers
Come join us for a night of FREE food, conversation, and social justice love. The goal of this dinner is to build a social justice community, create ways to strengthen programming on campus, and just talk about social justice. 8) Avanim deadline
THIS IS IT! Your very absolute final last chance to submit your writing and artwork to Avanim, the Jewish literary magazine of the Columbia/Barnard Hillel.
We publish poetry and fiction (under 750 words) and artwork of all kinds (ranging from oil painting to photography to collage).
Does the work have to be about Judaism, you ask? No! We don't only publish explicitly Jewish work, and we are especially interested in how a piece resonates differently when published in a Jewish context. For ideas of what we're looking for, take a look at our first issue online at www.hillel.columbia.edu/Avanim.pdf.
THE DEADLINE IS 11:59 PM MARCH 30TH.
Send all writing as Word attachments to avanim.magazine@gmail.com. Any images should simply be attached to the email as well. Include your name, email where you can be reached, and Columbia affiliation in the body of the email.
So send us your stuff and let's get on with the publishing!

This Tuesday, April 1st at 7pm in the Brooks Living Room, religious women from the Muslim Students Association and Hillel join together for an evening of dinner and discussion about the topic, 'Modern of Women of Faith'. Come listen to Dean Greenberg-Kobrin and Dr. Abeer Hassoun, followed by peer discussions. You MUST RSVP by sending an email to interfaithnight2007@gmail.com! Spaces are limited so sign up today!
