2) Call For Artists!

Are you an artist? Do you want to be one?

Please submit works for the Columbia/Barnard Hillel Spring 2008 Art Show: "All Actual Life is Encounter" (Martin Buber). This theme is meant to serve as a uniting framework for the show and is open to broad interpretation on the part of the contributing artists. The show will be hung at the Kraft Center from mid February through mid March. Submissions are due the first week of February. All Barnard, Columbia, JTS, TC students are encouraged to apply for this juried show! Here's a chance to promote the arts, show off your creative side, spread diversity, and help beautify the Hillel building! It's also a great way to showcase your work to fellow Barnard/Columbia students and faculty.

(Please note, you do not need to be a member of Hillel to participate).

Email: artshow@hillel.columbia.edu for more info and an application.

3) Register now for LGBT Jewish Conference at Columbia

The National Union of Jewish LGBT Students is having its annual conference here at Columbia/Barnard/JTS on February 8-10 and we hope you'll be able to attend. You will surely enjoy its offerings: workshops, networking, educational opportunities, great speakers, and more.

Everyone must register - - please go ASAP to http://www.nujlsonline.org/registration.php

Register today, tell all your friends!  Can't wait to have you with us.

4) Jewish Genetic Diseases Screening Day

If you have at least one Jewish parent, it is important to know if you are a carrier for certain genetic diseases prevalent among Jews. Representatives from the NYU Human Genetics Program will be visiting campus this semester for a one-day screening - a quick process, covered by most insurance plans (including the student health insurance). If you are interested in being tested, please email your name, phone number, and insurance carrier to jbell@hillel.columbia.edu
