More about the topic: "Can Arguing be a Good Thing?" The Jewish world seems full of different opinions that can lead to argument. Today, the word argument has a negative connotation. However, in Jewish tradition, argumentation was the primary way we learned, shaped our identity and solidified our practices. In this class, we will be examining sources on the concept of arguing, and exploring how to respect each other although we may disagree.
Pardes is a co-ed, non-denominational institute of Jewish studies in Jerusalem that offers a unique combination of intellectual openness, rigorous textual analysis, and opportunities for spiritual growth. For more information about Pardes programs, please speak to Ariella Goldfein on Sunday evening, or contact her at ariella@pardesusa.org.
3) Hillel t-shirt contest! Do you want to know what the new Hillel T-shirts are going to look like... so do we!
We will be selling the new t-shirts at the date auction next month, but before then, we will be holding a contest to see what they will look like.
The winner's design will be made into a t-shirt to be sold to the community; the winner and runner up will receive a free shirt!
Please submit t-shirt designs to Josh Dorsch at jad2130@columbia.edu, by noon on Monday, October 29th.
Good luck, and if you have any questions, contact Josh (jad2130@columbia.edu).
